~Transportation News~
It's that time of year again.... and if you were with us last year you will see some changes to the times with transportation. The Allentown School District has shifted their opening and closing times, so in order to accommodate our kids we needed to shift our times as well.
*Harrison-Morton/Sheridan ~ bus
leaves to drop off at schools at 7:30 a.m.
*Mosser ~ 1st shuttle will begin at 8:00 a.m.
*Ritter ~ Bus leaves at 8:30 a.m.
Please be sure that your child is here before the departure time.
Our bus/vans are tight~ we will be unable to provide transportation for your child if they are not here on time.

Our Preschool Class
were given tickets from Mike at Diamond Collectables for the
Iron Pigs game today! What a blast we had! Game or no game.... We
were rained out but still had fun sitting inside our box, seeing the stadium
and getting our game hotdogs.
Mike is the BEST neighbor.... Thank you sooooo much!!

Schools in the Allentown School district will closed for an In-Service Day. The children that will be with us for the day will be going on a
Special
Field Trip to the Fish Hatcheries!!
We will be packing our
lunches and eating there.
All children should dress appropriately to be outside.
According to the weather report, it should be a beautiful day!

Patch Fun!

Even our littlest ones could go to our Bright Futures Pumpkin Field.
We loaded up our
backyard with pumpkins of all sizes and the Bright Futures Kids were able to
go on their field trip... out back... and pick their very own pumpkin.

6 months old on October 26th!

On Thursday, October 28th;
Bright Futures will be hosting their Premier Trunk or Treat!
We still have a few spots available for parents wishing to participate.
Parents should arrive around 3 - 3:30 p.m.
The Treaters will go around after our Halloween Parade at 4:00p.m.

We had a fun packed day for Monday,
October 11, 2010.

Our school age children spent the day at Sherwood Park on a special picnic field trip. We are planning to enjoy as much outside time before the cold moves in.
What a beautiful day it turned out to be.
Our preschoolers have been invited to visit our friends at Westminister Village for some pumpkin decorating and fall harvest fun.

Children needing transportation to school in the morning must be here before the bus/vans are scheduled to leave.
We have a tight morning and afternoon schedule and must leave on time to be sure that all children arrive at school on time. If your child is not here when we leave, we will be unable to transport them that day and you will need to drop them off at their school.
Below is a list of departure times with the schools we service.
Leaving at 7:15 a.m.: Ritter Elementary, Ritter Am Kindergarten, Mosser & Nitschmann
Leaving at 7:20 a.m.: Harrison Morton & Sheridan Elementary
Leaving at 8:40 a.m.: Buchanan Elementary & Clearview Elementary
Midway Manor: We service PM Kindergarten at this time: Leaving at 11:30 a.m.

Words can not express
my gratitude to the wonderful parents of
Bright Futures Child Care.
On Tuesday night,
after closing, Bright Futures was burglarized.
Many things were taken including our Daycare Van, Infant formula, food for
our children's lunches & snacks, camp games, equipment and tons more.
I have received an
enormous amount of encouragement and donations for the children. I
feel truly blessed to be involved with such incredible people.
When starting this new adventure,
I never would have dreamt of having such a close knit
Bright Futures family as we have...

feel and pet a few today.

Dodie came to our school today to work with Miss Dorothy's Angora's Bunnies...
Before & After Looks were so dramatic... And their fur is unbelievably soft.
Fun day ... Down on the Bunny Farm!
Now have to make time to spin the fur into yarn for a scarf... :)

Special Summer Time Notes:
*Sunscreen ~
D.P.W. requires that each child have their own bottle of sunscreen and that
we store them all together either in a lock box or out of the reach of
children.
If you would like for us to apply sunscreen to your child, please be sure to
send in a bottle and make sure it is properly labeled.
* Water play ~
We will be enjoying water play all throughout the summer. We are
asking parents to bring in a bathing suit or shorts that can be left at
school for these activities. This way we will always be prepared.

STARS Program

Food Program
Today, I spent the day in Harrisburg in training on the Food Program (CACFP).
The CACFP is an wonderful program that
assists us in providing each child the
well balanced meals that they need to grow strong.
This is also an opportunity to teach the children about nutrition
and good eating habits.
I am excited that Bright Futures children will be able to participate.
Look forward to some information coming
