Bright Futures Child Care

Infants

Providing a loving, safe and cheery atmosphere for your Infant to start their early childhood experience is our goal.  Bright Futures Child Care accepts babies starting at the age of 8 weeks.  Occasionally, when a need arises, we are able to take a child as young as 6 weeks but prefer to have them start at 8 weeks if at possible.

Each baby entering our school will be on their own schedule.  We would like to make this transition to daycare as easy as possible and would appreciate if you could write down the schedule that your child is currently on.  Any parental preferences should be noted, however, due to regulations, all babies must be placed on their back to nap.  We understand that once they reach a certain age they may flip themselves over, but as caregivers we are required to initiate nap on their back.

We keep track of your baby's daily activities on our Baby Track record form.  We will note eating, sleeping, medicine, mood and diapering.  These records are yours to keep but we will keep them in the Infant room for you to view until the end of the week when we send them home.

Each child will be given their own bed.  Parents are asked to provide the bed linens and they will be sent home each Friday for laundering.

Diaper changing:  We are very conscious of the importance of keeping germs to a minimum.  We have a strict diapering procedure that our staff are trained in which is posted by our changing tables.  You will be asked to provide diapers, wipes and any ointments that your child may need.  We will let you know when your child is getting low so you may restock these items.

Formula:  Bright Futures is a active part of the CACFP (Child & Adult Care Food Program).  As a part of this program, we will provide the Good Start formula for any infant enrolled in our center.  You may provide a different formula if you wish.  Since each baby will be at different stages of development, we ask that our parents provide the cereal and food that they would like us to give to them at least on a daily basis.

Medicine Policy:  All medicine is kept either locked in our refrigerator or in our office.  Medicine is to be logged at the office and administered by Dorothy or Cathy.  This is to prevent any mistakes with medicine and we appreciate your cooperation as we are always striving to provide the safest of environments for your little ones.

We enjoy outdoor walks in our Bye Bye Buggy!
