Bright Futures Child Care Center, LLC

Naptime

Each class through Pre-school will take a nap.  The length of nap depends on the age of the child an will vary between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours.  Our naptimes will start between 12-12:30.

Infants and some young toddlers will sleep in a crib, all the others will be given their individual sleep mat.  Parents are charged for an additional sleep mat when the mat is damaged by the child.

Most children will want to bring a blanket from home as well as a sheet to cover up during naps.  Please be sure to label these items.  All laundry will be sent home on Fridays to be cleaned.  Please be sure these are returned on Monday.

You may bring the child's "special toy" for nap time.

Clothing

  • Please dress your child appropriately.  Please make sure that your child has an extra change of clothing at the school at all times.

  • Please bring boots, gloves, hat, sweaters, additional socks and pants in the winter and rainy weather.

  • PLEASE LABEL ALL YOUR CHILD'S CLOTHING... Many articles of clothing are very similar in appearance and can get mixed up.

  • Bright Futures Child Care is not responsible for lost or ripped clothing.  The teachers take care to assure that clothing are well taken care of, but cannot guarantee possible loss or damage.

  • Please keep in mind that children will go outside daily, weather permitting, so proper dress is crucial.

Jewelry

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, children under the age of three are not allowed to wear jewelry in a child care center due to the possibility of choking, since they put everything in their mouths and also the danger of torn earlobes from dangling earrings.  If you forget, and your child does come in with jewelry, we will take it off and place in their diaper bag or another safe place.  In any event, we will not be responsible for any lost jewerly.

Ouch Reports

In the perfect world, all children would remain healthy and boo-boo free.  There are many days in which I would love to place my children in a bubble or keep them on my lap but, we are all aware that this is not a practical thought if we want our children to grow.   It is important that we, as caregivers, provide safe, enriching opportunities for growth and development.  Along with these opportunities, we must allow children to take their first steps, run, climb, swing, etc.  We strive to have ouch-free days, however, as we all know, childhood growing does occasionally come with a few bumps and bruises at times.

The staff will maintain current First Aid/CPR training and are able to handle minor injuries.  Any incidents requiring first aid will be noted on an "Ouch Report" and this report will be given to you upon pick up.  The teachers are instructed to inform the director of any incident that requires an "ouch report".  Please feel free to contact me if you should have any questions concerning an ouch report that you have been given.
